Admission

Admission to Form 1 follows the national school-selection and placement process.

Prempeh College is a public boys’ boarding school. Placement is handled through the Ghana Education Service’s Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), based on BECE results and the choices submitted during school selection. Students placed at Prempeh then follow the college’s enrolment and reporting instructions.

How Placement Works

Five steps to the college

  1. Register for the BECE

    Your junior high school registers you for the Basic Education Certificate Examination on the schedule issued by WAEC and the Ghana Education Service.

  2. Sit the BECE

    Write the Basic Education Certificate Examination on the timetable published by WAEC Ghana. Your results form the academic basis of placement.

  3. Choose Prempeh College during school selection

    List Prempeh College among your choices during the school-selection window announced by the Ghana Education Service.

  4. Check your CSSPS placement

    When placements are released, check yours online or by SMS using your index number, then complete self-onboarding and print your placement form.

  5. Report to campus

    Bring the required placement documents and prospectus items on the announced reporting day. The college will complete enrolment and house allocation during reporting.

Come and see the college

The campus sits in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, on land given by Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II. Modernist architects Maxwell Fry and Jane Drew laid it out in 1948. Prospective students and their families are welcome to visit. Write or call ahead so the administration can receive you.
